3-D Architecture Process Part 3 of 3 by Air Animation Production
The Rendering
The rendering stage is best described as the creation of an old animated Mickey Mouse flipbook. In order to create an animation we need to render thousands of single images. These images are also referred to as frames. The frames are lined up in sequential order during the video editing stage, similar to the old Mickey Mouse flipbooks. When you flip through the images very quickly you will begin to see motion!
The rendering process itself can take anywhere from 24 hours to one or two weeks, depending on the size of your project. It is very important to incorporate this time into the overall project scope in order to plan for your developments opening.
As you could imagine, the process of generating thousands and thousands of images requires a substantial amount of computing power. In order to process all of this information we have what are called rendering farms. A rendering farm is basically a room full of computers which work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, generating your images. Depending on the size of your project, we may have anywhere between 15 to 30 machines processing your project at any given time.
Once the rendering phase is complete, we can move forward with the final stage of the process which is the video editing stage.
Video Editing
Video editing is the last stage of the process and typically only applies to projects that include animation.
During this stage, we line up the thousands and thousands of rendered frames (images) from the “rendering process” in sequential order to create a video.
The video editing stage also allows us to add royalty free music, title pages with your company or project logo, voice-over narration, video effects, etc.
Music! We have a catalog of royalty free music that you can choose from, or you may supply us with a musical track that you have specifically selected for your project.
Voice over narration! If a voice over is included in the project, we can supply you with both audio samples of both male and female professional voice over talents.
Once the final video is complete, we proceed to output your videos in your specified formats. Formats include authored DVD, Web stream, uncompressed AVI for television broadcast, etc. The various outputs can be used for displaying the project on your website, computers, televisions in your sales center, brochure DVD’s, etc.
About Air Animation
Air Animation began as a Canadian company whose business was primarily with Canadian real estate developers. Over the years, we began working closely with U.S. developers to the point where 80% of our work load was coming from the United States. Due to our close relationship with many of the top builders throughout the U.S., we were able to get a hint of what the future may hold in store in regards to a potential meltdown of the real estate market.
After many visits to Puerto Vallarta, we felt that it would be a smart move to relocate the sales division of our company to Puerto Vallarta in order to immerse ourselves within the Latin American real estate market. Our predictions were correct, as the U.S. market tumbled.
Since the fall of the U.S. real estate market, our roster of clients within the United States has been reduced to 0%. On the other hand, our list of international clients has steadily grown to include developers within Mexico, Italy, and Bulgaria. In hindsight, our decision to move to Puerto Vallarta was definitely the right decision, which reinforces our belief that Vallarta as well as the Bay of Banderas has a very bright future ahead!
